Beyond the Boundaries of Time has now been out for three months. When I last wrote, I said it weaves together historical events that have influenced my writing and ancient lore the Waitaha Elders asked me to keep close until I felt it was time to share more. It goes into places I have not taken readers before.
Sending this book into the world, placing it with those who care, has lifted aside burdens I have carried for many years. It sweeps across a huge, historical landscape and my journey within it. You are invited to travel deep into events that made me who I am. It’s a fascinating meld of the epic and the personal. For me, it’s a song of hope.

This is what readers have to say about Beyond the Boundaries of Time.
“It’s a very important book about the life of a courageous man… It is a measure of his courage and perseverance. Very few people have been asked to undertake such a mission. It’s good it’s now in the open.”
Linda and John,England
“Thank you! Thank you for this taonga crafted with much compassion, aroha and personal authority! You have managed to gather threads from the past and the future to weave a precious ‘now’, sharing the mana of Elders, Kuia and Kaumata. The words glisten with light like the scales on the fish, drafting out the ‘tale’ like the carvings on the prow of the waka to show the way of the journey. You have navigated the currents and storms, followed the trail of the stars with the stone as a guide. Thus it draws all who read into its wairua of peace.”
Lesley, Aotearoa/New Zealand.
“Barry, I have just finished reading your last book. I found it a great eye-opener… at last I begin to understand how difficult it was to bring Song of Waitaha into the world. Sometimes feel I must have Waitaha blood in my veins. I just love their story and everything about them.”
Ba, Cornwall
“I would like to extend my deepest thanks to you for the beauty you bring to this world. You helped change how I view this world. You have been a powerful catalyst for change. You are a gift. I shall miss your writings but they will live on.”
Accalia, France & England
“What fabulous result! Thank you so much. It is a one of a kind biography exploring the depth and the significance of a life lived and shared… an amazing job that blends texts, histories and meanings. Wonderful to see your history come alive beyond the boundaries of time.”
Herman, Holland
“Thank you so much. I so like how practical your writings, concepts, and ideas are, so basic, yet so extraordinarily ordinary, different yet known, unfamiliar yet familiar. Your writings help affirm and extend my understandings.”
Pauline, Aotearoa/New Zealand
“You possess a wealth of knowledge and it’s great that you can now share it with the world. I am hopeful that the young generation coming through now will be real change-makers and that knowledge of what has gone before can help to guide them. The book’s cover says so much in itself.”
Lynn, Christchurch
“I have received a most special gift, a book from New Zealand. I was up most of the night reading… I am quite literally moved to tears by much of this.”
Kent, New Mexico
“I want to let you know that I am loving your new book, I love your explanations of things and your beautiful way of expressing things. I am finding it fascinating…”
