Kia ora friends
When, in my last newsletter I wrote, this is the last book I will write, I was absolutely clear about that. Many hundreds of you responded with wonderful words of gratitude for the writing I had already done. Thank you for that, an author’s role is a lonely one. Others encouraged me by suggesting there were still more books to come. Thanks for that too. I wish it were true but I know deep down, as I begin my eighty-third-year, that mountain’s now too hard to climb.
“Beyond the Boundaries of Time” is finally done
After four long years Beyond the Boundaries of Time is finally done. When I last wrote, I described how Cushla’s response to questions about its content was, That’s a secret! At that time I just offered that it adds much to Song of Waitaha, echoes Song of the Stone, opens the way to Wisdom of the Four Winds and Song of the Old Tides and goes into places I have not taken readers before.
It’s unique because it weaves together historical events that influenced my life. Truths that span the ages are shared here, and knowledge the Elders asked me to hold in the silence until the time was right. Letting this book go into the world, placing it with those who care, lifts aside burdens I have carried for many years.
This story is painted with two brushes. A big one that sweeps across a huge, expansive landscape and the finer one that colours my journey within it. You are invited to travel deep into our history and share how that made me who I am. My proof readers said it’s a fascinating meld of the epic and the very personal.
Make of it what you will. I just see it as a song of hope.
