Kia ora All
I have written my last book
Out of the long silence, a voice from the wilderness! At last, after four, years my last book is done. It’s with our graphic artist/book designer today. With no firm launch date in mind, we are merely saying it will be out by Christmas.
All my energy has been focused on this book. Talks have been rare! Newsletters non-existent! And I have been writing in the Moon Time and rising well before dawn. Many I met along the way wanted to know what the book was about. And Cushla just said, “It’s a secret!”
And it still is. Which is not a good way to promote a book. But that’s how it is because its utterly unlike anything I’ve written before. All I want to say at present is it adds to “Song of Waitaha”, echoes “Song of the Stone”, opens the way into “Wisdom of the Four Winds” and goes into places I have not taken you before. The stories take us to 2019 and this writing has given me great joy.
Now that it’s done I am going to paint a door. It’s a very old one into our shed at Castle Hill. Then, all going well, I’ll see if I can find a smaller brush and work on a canvas or two. It’s time to reinvent myself. We will head north before the snow gets too low then head south again in November
“Soldiers without Guns”
If this documentary is in a cinema near you, see it! You will not be disappointed. It’s an incredible journey into who we are as Kiwis. I feel so clear about that I would love every child in this land see it before they leave high school. And their parents too! We have so much to be proud of, have been far ahead of our time in significant ways. March 15th showed us that too. Be inspired, have a night out at the movies. It’s a story few of us know and its utterly true.
And feel good!
Ae! Kia Kaha!
